Cadet Force Adult Volunteer Recognition

Royal Russell School Combined Cadet Force is proud to announce a series of special Medals being issued to a number of our Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAV).

The King’s Coronation Medal is an honour that recognises the exceptional commitment and service of those who support the Army Cadet Force, contributing to the development of young people and strengthening community ties.  It is also awarded to those who were part of the King’s Coronation day. This medal is a lasting testament to the dedication and hard work of CFAV’s who go above and beyond to support the Cadets from Royal Russell School and our partnership with Coloma School.

This year, we have an additional sense of occasion, as the King’s Coronation Medal is awarded to those CFAV’s whose service has been recognised by the Ministry of Defence and the Army Cadet Force.

The King’s Coronation Medal is awarded to individuals who have shown outstanding dedication to the Cadet Forces across the UK, its cadets, and its values.  They have had to have 5 full years of service within the organisation and were in active service on 6 May 2023.

The medal recognises sustained excellence, leadership, and the ability to inspire and mentor young people within the cadet movement.

Those in receipt are:

  • Wing Commander C Leggatt
  • Major J Lacey
  • Captain N Quick
  • Captain R Fisher
  • Lieutenant J Blows
  • Sergeant U Greenwood

We have a dedicated team of CFAV’s from both schools including those with service less than 5 years, the commitment and hard work is also appreciated.

The Headmaster of Royal Russell School said:

“The Cadet Force is a very good thing. Whether receiving the Cadet Force Medal or the Kings Coronation Medal, both signify commitment and volunteer service.  I am proud that the cadets and school extend our thanks and share in this celebration, and on their behalf to pass on sincere gratitude and congratulations to the recipients.  Our cadet unit is in great shape with several of the team helping with national roles that assist Cadet Force instructor career development across the UK.”
